About Us

A BARC reaches out to our canine friends in need. Our main focus is to rescue pregnant dogs or mother dogs with newborn puppies from shelters in the North Carolina and Virginia regions. Unfortunately, animals that are pregnant or have a new litter don't fare well in a shelter environment, and are often euthanized before they have a chance at life. Shelters do not have the capacity to provide the care and time needed to raise a healthy litter of puppies.

Although our program focuses on young families we do not turn away other canine friends in need. We have taken cases that have special needs from other rescue groups or humane societies, as well as owner surrenders. We believe in quality of care over quantity of animals rescued.

You can meet our adoptable dogs here. If you have any questions about one of our rescued dogs or our adoption program, please contact Brittany@AllBreedAnimalRescue.com.

While we are unable to house cats at this time, we love all of our furry friends regardless of shape and size. We are always looking for foster homes for cats and kittens, if you think you can help please submit a foster application.

In an effort to help cats and kittens, ABARC is starting a program that will help feral cat colonies in our area. Feral cat colonies are much more abundant than you would think. Once cats have been turned away from their humans to live in the "wild" they are often unable to make the transition back to domesticated life. We will work with custodians of feral cat colonies to trap, neuter, and release feral cats back into their colony and supply food for the colonies that they over see when needed. Do you have a feral cat colony in your area? Would you like to become a custodian to a feral cat colony in your area? Please contact Outreach@AllBreedAnimalRescue.com if you are interested in hearing more about this program.

Our veterinary provider is one of the most important aspects of our rescue organization. PetSound Animal Hospital plays a critical role with each and every dog that comes through our adoption program. Without the efforts of veterinarian Dr. Kevin Monce and his staff we would not be able to save lives in the capacity we do. We encourage you to support those who support us!
